Celebrating 40 Years with This Guy!

This Saturday, August 19th, my husband and I will celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary! 40 Years? I can't wrap my head around the idea that we have been married for 40 years! But what an amazing 40 years it's been!

Last weekend we went to Park City, Utah to celebrate the occasion. Almost all of our kids and grandkids were there. Unfortunately, one son and his family were sick. But the rest of us were there and we had a great time! Our hotel had an indoor pool so we started with everyone bringing their own dinner and then having a swim party. It was so fun!

After our swimming, I presented everyone with the Davis Family Quiz. I asked questions about how me and my husband met, where we lived, how many times we've moved, etc. Then I shared a ton of what we call famous Davis Family quotes. They had to guess who said the quote and why. That activity did exactly what I hoped. It got us talking about the fun times we've had, all the naughty things our kids did (including some we hadn't heard about yet) and more. Then our kids asked us questions about our experiences as parents and raising our kids. What a fun night it turned out to be! Since we weren't all there, we weren't able to get a family picture. We're hoping to do that later this month.

Even though we usually celebrate our anniversary as a couple, I believe it's also the anniversary of the start of our family. That's why we felt it was important to celebrate this landmark anniversary with our family! Jon & I have been truly blessed. We have 5 amazing kids, 4 awesome in-law kids that we love like our own, and 6 beautiful grandkids. What more could a person want?
